
Remote Online Language Assessor

A temporary online Language Assessor required to conduct 4 language assessments per day for two days each week. Clients are assessed from across Northern Ontario geographic area.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assess clients online using the Remote Language Assessment Tool
- Ability to assess 4 to 5 clients per day, twice weekly
- Data entry of client data into the HARTs database
- Create and save client files into Google Drive
- Proficient with Google Calendar and Google Meet
- Work under the direction of the Lead Language Assessor in Thunder Bay, Ontario
- Work remotely from home in a secure area free of noise and distractions
- Friendly, professional demeanor; ability to communicate well with clients and proctors
- Operate in accordance with policies and protocols of the organization
Qualifications:
- A recognized University Degree in English, Linguistics/Languages or a similar field
- TESL Certification and training recognized by TESL Canada or Provincial teaching credentials
- Trained in the latest online language assessment tool
- Previous experience completing online assessments
- Experienced using the HARTs database to enter client data
- Minimum 300 hours teaching ESL to adults within the last 2 years in Canada
- Knowledge of Canadian Language Benchmark Placement TEST (CLBPT) standards through use and / participation in CLB workshops
- Positive Attitude; exceptional ability to work well with others in an online setting
- Able to work with people from many different backgrounds, countries, cultures and languages
- Knowledge of a second language would be an asset
