ESL Teacher for International Youth Program

We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated ESL Teachers to join our team this summer! The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching English to young learners, energetic, and experienced in creating engaging lessons that support language development and cultural exchange.

About Us
International Youth Program (IYP) offers dynamic seasonal language + activities programs that brings together young learners from around the world to learn English, make new friends, and explore new cultures. Our goal is to create a positive, engaging, and fun English-learning environment for international junior learners.

Position: Part-Time ESL Teacher
Location: Toronto, Ontario
Program Dates: From mid-May to mid-August
Schedule: Monday to Friday, part-time morning classes from 9:00am to 12:00pm
Compensation: Competitive hourly wage (based on experience)

Duties & Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver interactive ESL lessons for junior students (ages 8-17)
• Use creative teaching methods, materials, and activities to support language acquisition
• Assess and monitor student progress; provide constructive feedback
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
• Communicate with program staff and guardians as needed
• Encourage cultural exchange and participation in program activities

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, TESL/TEFL, Linguistics, or related field (or current enrollment in a relevant program)
• TESL/TEFL/CELTA or equivalent certification preferred
• Experience teaching English as a Second Language, especially to children/teens
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and classroom management skills
• Creative, patient, and adaptable approach to teaching
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team
