225 Dougall Ave, Caledon ON (combination of on-site and remote)
Start Date: January 6, 2025
End Date: March 31, 2025 (with a possibility of renewal – subject to funding availability)

Our Customer Service Vision: Making it Easy to Ask, Participate and Give
Position Overview: Reporting to the Manager, Newcomer Programs, the Digital Navigator, will work closely with the immediate team members (LINC Instructors, Settlement Workers, and Outreach Lead/Admin) and extended colleagues to create opportunities that support newcomers accessing online, hybrid, and HyFlex language training and settlement services.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Position Deliverables/Accountabilities:
- Coordinate, administer and lead onsite and virtual orientation sessions for new clients
- Provide onsite and virtual support to individual clients from Literacy to CLB 8 in accessing online course delivery, including monitoring and responding to requests in the online support email account
- Plan and deliver online digital training for clients and/or staff
- Provide support to instructors in the use of learning platforms and recommended technologies
- Work with instructors in integrating and enhancing digital literacy skills within the classroom
- Support the development of processes and policies for online language delivery within specified program areas
- Support the development and maintenance of learning platforms and databases as required
- Develop and maintain lists of recommended digital educational tools to complement existing tools
- Curate instructors’ online pages and assist in ensuring quality control of online resources
- Work on projects to support and advance online learning in consultation with relevant stakeholders
- Stay current with new trends and research recommended practices for online language delivery and technology supports
- Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with other Service Provider Organizations
- Provide digital literacy support to LINC, Settlement, and Eh-Café clients, volunteers, and staff
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience will be accepted
- OCELT designation (or working towards) is required
- Experience working with diverse and vulnerable populations (newcomers to Canada)
- Experience delivering technology training and support
- 2 years’ experience in a similar position teaching adults
- Experience working in a cross-cultural environment
- Experience in online teaching /distance education
- Experience in ESL curriculum development an asset
- Experience delivering direct service to newcomers preferred
- Experience working with CLB and Portfolio Based Language Assessment (PBLA) preferred
- Understanding and knowledge of adult education principles
- Understanding and knowledge of learning management systems and educational technology
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Proficient with MS Office 365 (web) applications, various teleconferencing platforms, and educational applications
- Must be fluent in Punjabi/Hindi, Spanish, Farsi, or Arabic
- Knowledge of additional languages is an asset
- Access to a vehicle, valid driver’s license and insurance
- Access to a personal device (smart phone or tablet) is required for periodic, two-factor authentication using the Microsoft Authenticator App when signing into CCS networks/cloud environment as part of I.T. security protocols
