ESL Teaching Opportunity at Jewish Family Services Ottawa

JFS is seeking a dedicated and engaging ESL teacher for our afterschool program. The ESL teacher will work with students to build English language proficiency in reading. writing, speaking. and listening in a supportive and culturally responsive environment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging ESL lessons tailored to students’ proficiency levels
- Support students in developing reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills
- Create a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment
- Adapt instructional materials to meet diverse learning needs
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback
- Communicate with program staff regarding student participation and progress
- Maintain attendance and basic program documentation
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required (Education, TESOL, English, or related field preferred)
- ESL/TESOL certification preferred
- Prior experience teaching ESL or working with English language learners
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Experience working with youth in an afterschool setting is a plus
