The Circle of Friends for Newcomers (Hamilton) is seeking a Part-time Executive Director (20 hrs./wk).

The Circle of Friends for Newcomers is a non-for-profit organization dedicated to fostering language instruction for newcomers. Funded by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship, Canada (IRCC), the organization serves diverse communities by providing language instruction to newcomers to Canada (LINC) and supporting learners through innovative programs and services.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Supervises the IRCC-funded staff of the Circle of Friends

• • • Prepares and distributes employment agreements
    • Provides direction for staff activities
    • Monitors the performance of staff
    • Oversees the hiring of staff in collaboration with the LINC Coordinator and the Care for Newcomer Children (CNC) Supervisor where appropriate

Qualifications:

• Post-secondary qualifications
• At least two years management experience
• Recent experience working with immigrants
• Background in English language instruction
