2024 TESL Ontario Annual Conference Online Volunteer Opportunities

Save money and network with industry professionals while attending the TESL Ontario Virtual Conference! Volunteer your time in exchange for a complimentary One-Day Pass.

Volunteers must attend a mandatory 60-minute online orientation session and will be scheduled for up to 9 hours of online session monitoring.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • utilizing an online messaging platform (e.g. Slack) for instant communication with the TESL Ontario team
  • watching assigned sessions for audio and video quality issues
  • monitoring live session chats for questions, technical issues and inappropriate content
  • providing low-level technical support (standardized responses will be provided) and escalate other issues for higher level technical support
  • after each shift, completing a short debrief form to summarize any session issues and actions taken

Qualifications:

Applicants must be tech savvy, have their own computer and reliable high speed internet access.

Volunteers will work from their own home, using the online conference platform to monitor sessions at the Virtual Conference. Ideally, candidates should have a quiet workspace, free from distractions.

Online training will be provided in advance. You MUST attend one of these sessions to be a volunteer. Training sessions will be held on Friday, November 1 at 7:00 pm and Saturday, November 2 at 10:00 am.
